Happy St. Patrick's Day! In honor of this green-tinged holiday, let's try our luck at finding some fun and fascinating blogs. And speaking of luck, I'll highlight a few giveaways and contests that are so popular in the Bloggernacle. So dance a jig, grab something green and let's uncover the luck o' the blogs!

St. Patrick's Day: Want some ideas on how to make your St. Patrick's Day holiday memorable? Then it's "Your Lucky Day"! These crafty blogs make "Getting Ready for St. Patrick's Day" so easy. And then don't these "St. Patty's Cupcakes" look too cute to eat? Mmmm!

I loved this delightful title and the following post that fittingly honored an Irish mother-in-law: "Celebrating The Irish on St. Patrick's Day, Also Known As Weasel-ing My Way Into My Mother-In-Law's Will." Does that just make you smile? Check out this charming post about one woman's admiration for her Irish "Mom."

And finally, here's some "St. Patrick's Day Blessings." My favorite had to be the last one: "May the good Lord take a liking to you ... but not too soon!"

Lucky link: And luckily, someone e-mailed me this link to some beautiful new screensavers and computer wallpapers based on the new book by Sheri Dew. Click to download!

Current contests: Luck is in the air, so try your hand at winning some of the contests and giveaways promoted throughout the Bloggernacle. It's not hard to find them. Search for "giveaway" or "contest" on your favorite Mormon aggregator.

Rules vary among blogs, but most often, you just have to comment on the post that lists the giveaway. Sometimes it's more complicated (like a guessing game, or a suggestion) but normally, that's the drill. Then the giveaway host blog chooses (usually at random) the winner(s).

One LDS blog that throws large giveaways is "Seriously So Blessed." This time she is offering jewelry, gourmet goodies, clothing, a diaper bag and more! The comment list is over 1,000 and counting but maybe Irish luck will go your way.

On a slightly smaller (and arguably more masculine) scale is the opportunity you have to "Play the NMH March Madness Challenge!" Oh wait, this one is pitting men against women in a "Battle of the Sexes." And the prizes? Well, if you always wanted a "1997 Upper Deck -- Michael Jordan Catch 23: Championship Drive Card," then this is the contest for you.

Good luck!

Now let's uncover pots of blog gold from last week in the Bloggernacle:

Power pick: Sometimes I interchangeably use the word "lucky" when I mean "blessed." So instead of being lucky, we are blessed to have a  "Facebook-era Prophet." Here is a glimpse at the insights found therein: "For me, what makes President Monson a prophet for our time, for the Facebook era, is his gift with personal interaction, with the stuff of real relationships. He is always on the Lord's errand, always following a prompting ... Our prophet is a master of the Real Interaction, of creating and fostering tangible, positive relationships." Click to read more, plus this post includes links to some marvelous stories about the prophet.

Techie tip: How does $500.00 sound? Well that's the reward of this "Contest for Name of New LDS Business Professional Social Network." Leave your idea as a comment and who knows, you just might win. And doesn't a LDS business professional social network sound intriguing? Yet that's a mouthful to say, it definitely needs a catchy name.
