Ancestors can be found in unsavory records
While we'd like to find our ancestors in glowing reviews in journals and records, sometimes the best place to find them are the bad places: divorce records, adultery suits, etc.


Happy birthday, FamilySearch!
It was a momentous day 10 years ago when the church launched FamilySearch.org, its long-awaited Internet Genealogy Service. At the official announcement press conference on May 24, 1999, President Gordon B. Hinckley said, "I hope you understand this is far from just a new Web site."


Eating through family history one slice at a time
Peggy Ryskamp's presentation on "Reconstructing Life in the Ancestral Hometown" smells like bread. I walk slowly by a table at the front of the room. It was filled with aromatic baskets of bread.
